3-D topographic fracture face mapping

Mixed mode fatigue fracture is identified for a test coupon subject to fretting fatigue. Surface traction from fretting contact caused a local area of mode I-mode II fracture near the crack origin. While this can clearly be seen from the SEM image, the MM-60 allowed this "zone" of mixed mode influence to be precisely measured. Although this is an extremely specialized example, it illustrates the flexibility of this system.
